Update: Joey is quite feverish and nauseous today. Trying to find the source. He has had chest x-rays and blood drawn, but on a good note he had his central line removed!! He did sit up in a chair today for about a half hour and got a lovely sponge bath :) from a very cute girl...his nurse wasn't bad either LOL! He even got his hair washed. That did make him feel better...for a while...then back to sleeping most of the day. We are trying to keep him moving from side to side so he does not get fluid build up. Unfortunately, our efforts have failed here. He does have fluid build up, but I think we can manage this without him getting worse. Please pray for a peaceful night for him. Nighttime seems to be his worst.
Keep those posts coming. It's helping me as much as Joey. Love to all.

pretty women and a sponge bath sounds like the right treatment. Hopefully things will level off and get back to healing. Hope for a good night sleep to all. I'm sure this wears everybody out.

I guess I knew with a surgery this extensive it wouldn't be easy, but I was so hoping it wouldn't be quite so uncomfortable. Hope both of you get a better nights sleep and each day gets easier.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you often. Janice and Tom

Hang in there, both of you. The first few days after a surgery like that have to be the worst. It's so hard because the more he moves around, the quicker the recovery, but it's so painful :(. Make sure you get rest, Kerri...you are going to need it! We'll keep praying along with hundreds of others!

Good Morning,
ReplyDeleteJoey is so lucky to have you there Kerri. No matter how good a hospital is, each patient needs his own advocate to really keep an eye on what is going on. Don't be afraid to be the "squeaky wheel" because its worth alot. I know its a grind, but once you get home we can get you rested and some help. Theresa and I are talking about how to get you a biomat for your house, and she wants to do some bodytalk on you. Hang in there and just focus on getting home. You guys are unbelievably strong.
Love you, Bronwen
Joe and Kerri

Joey, I am glad to see you have a strong woman by your side... and to have Kerri there must be nice too. Getting a sponge bath and watching Nascar must be a dream come true. Just make sure your health insurance covers home visits before you leave the hospital. If not, I am sure we can all pitch in ;)
ReplyDeleteAll the best bub!

We are thinking and praying for you all today. The nurses will take good care of you and since they are nice to look at that will put a smile on Joey's face. Enjoy this day and we hope for a good nights rest to recovery. Love, Tim, Melissa and girls.
ReplyDeleteWe hope each day brings more comfort and healing. Keeping you in our prayers. The nurses must have been fighting over giving Joey a sponge bath after they heard how "sexy" he is with his shaven chest!!
ReplyDeleteLove, Joe, Cindy & family
Joey and Kerri, Thinking of you both and praying for a fast recovery..You are both strong people who obviously have a substantial amount of support cheering you on by the looks of this blog (which is very helpful, by the way!!) Keep that "fighting Irish" attitude!! Love, Deb and Scott Kenny
