Well Jenny, his oompa loompa blue day is now only a bad memory. He was put back on an IV today only to replenish the fluids he missed yesterday. They decided to pull back the solid foods for now, but I must say, he looks great. I think his biggest problem now is the reflux. Again, thanks to nurse Jenny, we got a fix on order and he should get his first dose within the hour. He never has really explained the reflux feeling to the Dr., only the fact he felt the nausea. I think that is now under control. The Dr. assured him that he would have bad days and not to let this get him down. I think he totally understands this now. When we do get home, I am going to have to be careful as to not let him get too overtired. I am going to keep the blog going all of the way through to my surgery date, so stay tuned!! :)
From the man: "Hi guys. I really enjoy it when Kerri reads your posts to me. I really am not in much pain anymore, just the worst part is that I feel like I have an extreme case of integestion. Once the meds for this kick in, I am sure I will be leaps and bounds closer to coming home. Maybe tomorrow, but probably Sunday."

Hang in there, Joey. I'm sure you can't wait to be home. Sounds like you have made great strides! Hope they can get a handle on the indigestion/nausea for you. Know that you're in our thoughts daily.

OK. Sounds like someone has read the definition for "recovery". I like the idea of "being careful". I'm all set for Tuesday whether you are in Portland or at home. Just get in touch with me if there is anything you need. I'm doing my best to let you rest. There are so many people at work who are thinking good thoughts and saying prayers for you guys I am just in awe. The boys from facilities wish you well! Kerri, please make sure you are giving yourself enough rest. We love you. Donny & Patty

ReplyDeleteNot sure if you will remember us, but our son Wyatt raced in a younger division at TVR when Caleb was racing. We heard the news thru customers of our shop, Steve and Andrea Juskewitch. Knowing how much we enjoyed you all then and what a great family you are, of course we were struck with sadness. We wanted you to know we are thinking of you and hoping for the best recoveries possible.
Take Care,
Brett, Jenn and Wyatt Alexander

ReplyDeleteJust want you to know we think of you often and all that you've done to make our home what it is today. We look forward to seeing you again soon and trading more Bapst stories. Please take advantage of Nan's cooking. She loves to cook for people and what she doesn't know about healthy meals, they haven't written yet.
Take care of yourself.

Makayla and me are hoping you feel better today! Kerri, I have beautiful manicure...metallic red on pinky, middle, and thumbs, and metallic pink on the rest...compliments of Miss Makayla! Joe, hope the med worked! That burn is awful. Thanks for all the news. It helps those of us who can't see him daily:)
ReplyDeleteRest is the best, though, and even when you get home, we will always check before we come, knowing that the fatigue you are experiencing is beyond anything we could imagine, and that to have you feeling up to the visits in 3 months or so will be worth waiting for!!!!
Makayla says "I love you Uncle Joe and Aunt Kerri! I miss you! get better!"
love ya

One day at a time Joe. Kerri ,, thanks for keeping the blog up to date, and the promise to keep it going throughout your surgery as well. So many people are keeping track of your progress, and it's great to read all the posts / replies from all those who love you. I'm surprised that the lake is busy today ,, must be the dedicated fisherman getting a jump on the season. In any event ,, encouraging sounds of the season. The group went to dinner last night (Muddy Rudder)to celebrate Dawn's 50th ,, you guys were missed & talked about often. Everyone sends their well wishes and regards. I was hoping a little current events might help break up the day ,,, waiting patiently for you to get strong enough to come home so I can come visit under the pretence of watching a game with you ,, only to quickly eat your food and then fall asleep in the chair ,,, never to have watched a complete game of anything! Life's good ,,, god is great! I miss you!

Haven't been able to post for days...but you all continue to be uppermost in our thoughts and prayers. Everyone who knows what you are living through are amazed at your strength and your ability to make each step through this journey with positive energy even the small steps that seem to take you back a bit....you are both teaching us and especially your sons the most valuable lesson in life...that what's important is the ability to be there for each other and the love that sustains you through this journey...your Lord is certainly raising each of you up on His shoulders and helping you to be for each other and your family so much more than you thought you could be...we are all grateful and blessed! The Rainbow House Family
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Great but do remember you will have good days and then a bad one. That is to be expected . Your body went through a lot. Needs to recover !Time, Rest and Patience. I think I may have written that a few notes ago.
ReplyDeleteLOVE you both
Uncle Arthur & Aunt Cynthia
Joe,
ReplyDeleteGlad you're not in pain
We hope the nausea goes away soon. Any estimate on how long before you come home? Keep your chin up. You're a tough guy and you're going to be O.K. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Kerri and the boys. Love, Dave, Val and boys
Kane just wants to go to your house and eat food and drink large quantities of alcoholic beverages, that's why he is being so nice! I always was the nice one as you know! Right Joe? In the words of Dave Kane I kill me! Ha Ha! No pain means big gains! Wow, that was pretty good. Get home and when you are ready for someone to amuse you give me a call. Hey your winning! I knew you would. Hey thank St. Joseph in your prayers!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you might be coming home soon, lets keep our fingers crossed. Sorry about the nausea, hopefully that will get better. But for now rest, it heals the body.
ReplyDeleteRicky & Mary
Ginger tea, massage, positive thoughts! nausea is awful!--it makes you feel like you are going to throw up! You'll get by it-- keep walking too, I think 16 loops is a mile......
ReplyDeleteCid just got back from first trip to Vegas, hey I won $5.00!!!! and it was sunny just like Dedham Maine--the food was good so I ate enough for both of us since I knew that you wouldnt mind.
We think of you guys often and you are in our prayers!! Hope to hear that you are home soon,

Hi Joe and Kerri;
ReplyDeleteYour Michigan family sends along all of our love and prayers! The last time we were together (was far too long ago) at your beautiful home for the Lynch - Johnson family reunion! We are trusting God to bring both of you through these challenging days by his Grace! Please know that you are in our prayers daily both at our home and in our Church family (Hope Community Baptist of Sterling Heights, MI.)...there are three hundred prayer warriors lifting you all up to our Father! May the GRACE of Jesus, the LOVE of GOD and the FELLOWSHIP of the Holy Spirit be your ever - present help and HOPE! LOVE, George, Michelle, Nick, Nate, Katie and Stephen Johnson.
Blow off those low times Joey. There's sun on the other side. Thinking of you both lots. L. Christie
ReplyDeleteListen to what they say they know what they are talking about. They will get you home when you are ready and are getting you ready for the homecoming you deserve. You seem to be the topic everyone wants to talk about and everyone has a smile when they do. How cool is that? Thinking of you often and pray for you to feel great soon. Take care and stay rested. Go Team Lynch!
