WE ARE HOME :) Joey says "hi" to everyone! He says..."It was nice finally getting out of the hospital and a little more emotional than I thought it would be, because as I left, all of the emotions of the past 3 weeks started rolling forward like a freight train! From finding out about myself, then Kerri, going through the two operations so far, it has all seemed like a blur. I thank you all for the cards and nice words; and I can feel the power of your love and prayers. Kerri and I know we are still at the beginning of this, but because of friends and family like you it makes it easier to continually be moving forward and not looking back. One thing that we cannot forget is that we are travelling this journey with our wonderful boys by our side. They have been so strong, but we cannot forget what it must be like for them.
We are receiving blessings everyday. A neat one was upon my arrival at home I noticed how the road had been freshly graded up into the neighborhood baseball field. As we drove up to see all of the hard work (Mark!!!) that had been done to prepare the field for this years Little League practices, I saw my little friend Addison playing in the sand box. This brought back a flood of memories and reitterated the reason why we built that field in the first place. Thanks again to everyone."
My turn..."It does seem nice to be home, but unfortunately I am turning around this afternoon to go back to Portland for my appts. tomorrow. It will be too long of a day to do it all at once, so my Mom and I opted to go down today and spend the night with my friend Donna. I probably won't post anything tomorrow, because it will be too late when we return. (my appts are spread out from early morning to late afternoon :( ) However, I will post on Wed. with my new findings! Joey is lookin' good...he just needs a constant reminder to go sit down and DRINK LOTS OF WATER!...maybe he really is listening to me and the reason he is getting up a lot is to go pee!! On the way home yesterday he had me stop at Irving to get him banana bread. OK, this guy has not eaten anything for 12 days, except for a half piece of toast and a couple of popsicles, and he wants banana bread!! He did eat quite bit for his first time and it seemed so good! This just proves he is on the mend. We like that.
I will post again on Wed. and until then, God Bless and lots of {{Hugs}} to all!

Welcome home to you Joey and Kerri. I know how good it feels and how right it feels to be home. I'll bet that home never looked so good to you as right now!! Each day will find you stronger and healthier. You can always look backwards a week and see how much better you feel this week than last week. Time is a wonderful healer. You'd better obey every order of your doctor so you can continue to get back "on the road". My best to all of you.

Great to hear that you are back HOME! Don't hesitate to call any of us for anything you need. Even if it's just a trip to Irving to get you another piece of Banana Bread. Now it's Kerri's turn to join you on the journey to recovery. We will all continue to follow the blogs and we wish you the best, Sue & John K. PS Donny let us know if you need help putting in the Dock.
ReplyDeleteYEAH! So happpy you are home! I can only begin to imagine the feeling you must all have being back in your own space... soooooo comforting I'm sure! Kerri, I will pray for you as you travel south again for your appts (and for Joey at home without his dear friend and wife...you are amazing), so glad your Mom is by your side! You are all so strong and courageous, but I'm sure at times it is hard to stay that way (must be because you are human)! My "life (Bible) verse" is Joshua 1:9 and this verse has helped me through many difficult situations! Just want to share it with you... "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Thank you God... You too are amazing!!! Love to you all! Kim and Tom
ReplyDeleteKerri and Joey, So glad to hear that you are home and doing well (better!). This is the first step of many, I'm sure. I know you probably have plenty of help and support but I want you to know you can call me if there is anything I can do (errands, cooking, medical support, etc)and I mean that!! The best of luck to you tomorrow, Kerri. We will keep you in our prayers. Love, Vicki
ReplyDeletethere's no place like home, there's no place like home. Being home has got to help with recovery. Team Lynch has been on my mind the last few days. Also thinking about paddling across the lake this summer. Sounds good take care.
ReplyDeleteEric Kell--EK
Yeah!!!- How wonderful that you are back home to start the next phase of recovery, nestled into your own space. It makes a lot of sense that emotions burst forth as you left the hospital...you have certainly been holding a lot of "stuff" together over the past few weeks- good for you to be able to release a bit before moving on to yet another phase. Kerri, I can only begin to imagine how difficult it must be for you to turn around and head back to Portland-thoughts are with you all the way! So glad to know that your mom and Donna will be by your side. We are ready and waiting to do whatever we can to help...we could even loan you a couple of boys to put to work and to give you something else to watch as you rest and look out over the lake... We will be in touch.

Joey,
ReplyDeleteMake sure you take care of yourself and don't overdo it. There are plenty of friends who can help with anything you need.

Joe and Kerri,
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful news that the two of you are home! We have met Joe several times, and have had the opportunity to get to know you Joe. We can honestly say you are one of the nicest "neighbors" we have met. We haven't had the privilege of meeting Kerri, but from the wonderful photo and comments I know she is your better half Joe. We look forward to meeting you sometime Kerri. When we got the news of the both of you we were shocked. Cancer has touched our lives (though indirectly), and we know what you two must be going through. You both have been in our thoughts and in our prayers often. I believe in a God who is both gracious, and still in the miracle working business. From what He has done already, through the prayers of many, it is heartwarming to hear of your recent improvements. We will continue to pray hard for the both of you. With your loving family and friends we will see the other side of this mountain. Know you are thought of often during this time in your lives. Please let us know if we can do anything for you.
With much love and prayers... your friends on the other side of the lake :),
Greg and Pam Mars

I just wanted to send a quick hello from sunny Rhode Island. Melissa, Maxx, Cam & I came down yesterday via Keene State College (Neat little campus). Cam is on his way to Annapolis for a visit while we stay here and hit the malls shopping (you'll be in our thoughts Kerri!!!). I got to chat with Tyler on line last night while they were heading to the Island of Roatan ,,, technology at it's best ,,, pretty neat stuff. I had a great day with Caleb before heading south ,, please thank him for the company.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear how Kerri's tests went yesterday. We'll check again later today. Melissa says hello, and as always ,,, you are both in our morning prayers.
