Joey is tucked in for the night...unfortunately with a fever again. They are giving him an antibiotic, but they still cannot find the source . He is still retaining a lot of fluid. Up 23lbs from when we came in here. He did a lot of moving around today which was great. He walked "the loop" 3 times, plus sat up in the chair for a couple of hours. It was nice and sunny so he wore my sunglasses :) My parents came for a quick visit today. Joey is like one of their own and it was killing them to stay away. They had lunch with me, so we were able to have a nice visit. It also gave Joey some quiet time after all of his morning activities.
Tomorrow morning is the big day...the tube (NG?) going to his stomach is coming out!!!!!!!!!!! He was actually getting a little ugly about it when Cam, Bry and Bry's dad Brian came to visit tonight. I think that spunk is proving to me that he is on the mend!! Tomorrow is going to be a good day, I can just feel it.
Good night and God Bless.

Good morning,
ReplyDeleteI hope the fever is down this morning. Hopefully this morning you will be "free" of all those annoying tubes! I have been getting the mail and swinging by the shop everyday. Don't worry, I am checking on Rick to make sure he isn't just reading Harlequin Romance novels all day! We are so happy to hear of each day's feats and are counting down the days 'til your return. You won't believe how many sentences Eve is putting together all the sudden. It is the cutest thing ever!
Love you, have a good day, Bronwen,Marc,Finn,Evie
Good morning. "The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's wonderful and so are you." You will have a great day today. - Donny
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys are making progress. It may feel slow but progress none the less. I'm sure it's exhausting everyone. Sounds like spirits are high. Go Team

Dear Joey,
ReplyDeleteI remember the NG tube!!!.....I was very sick about 10 years ago. I had an infection in my abdomen and was cleaned out much like you. Not cancer but I know the procedure all too well! In the hospital for 11 days and had an NG tube for most of it.....let me tell you...I sooooooo understand....No one knows until they've had one and it does make you so mad!!!!!!!!!! Just remember....when they do take it out you will feel so free and on your way...I look forward to hearing that nasty thing is out ...thinking of you...

So hoping that NG tube comes out today, the fever comes down, and Joey is up even more than yesterday. Sounds like he is doing better every day- love that news!
ReplyDeleteNo suckers yet... I am not sure who was more disappointed Luke, Reese, or Eddy... we'll keep checking as I am sure this will be a spring highlight. Luke still thinks fishing is putting those little bait fish in a hole and taking them back out at the end of the day. He didn't see any fish caught this winter! So these will seem huge to him!!!
Thanks for the updates and have a great day!
Love, Casey, Dave, Luke and Reese
Prayers and love to all. Thanks for updates. Mickey S.
ReplyDeleteHi Joey and Kerri,
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are moving in the right direction. I am keeping all of you in my prayers. Talked to Caleb yesterday he seems to be doing well. He can't wait to do Katahdin again. It is very nice to be able to check on your progress daily.
Darrell
Good morning
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the updates Kerri, it's so good to hear the progress that Joe is making. I'm sure he'll feel even better with the NG tube gone. Rick dreamed about Joey last night - a funny dream that I'll fill you in on at a later date....
Prayers and love for both of you......
Renee & Rick
Hey Kerri and Joey,
ReplyDeleteSounds as though your Winning Attitude is working for your Team! Although this is clearly one of your toughest competitions, you will no doubt come out on top. What an inspiration you both are... You are in our thoughts each and every day. (Please let your mom and dad know we are thinking of them as well). Thanks for allowing all of us to be with you as much as possible by sharing details of your days and nights.
Much Love,
