To know Joey and Kerri is to love them. The news of both of them being diagnosed with cancer is heartbreaking. We've created this site so that you can get updates, offer help, and use the guest book to write thoughts of encouragement and love. The outpouring of love and support they are receiving is very wanted and appreciated, however there will be times in the future when the Lynchs may not be able to keep up with phone calls and visits. Please use this site as an alternative means to stay connected.

Had a good nights sleep...probably the best yet, but having a problem keeping the food in. They are going to put him back on IV fluids for the day, just to get him back to where he needs to be. Dr. came in this morning and reassured us that he really is doing great. Also reminded Joe that these "walls" will appear every now and then and not to get discouraged. If he needs to take a break from the regular food, that is perfectly acceptable. Joey also made the decision to for-go the oral meds for now (i.e.: tylenol, ibuprofen) because his stomach is so raw. His stomach wasn't very tolerant of these before his surgery, so really no issue there. Doc agreed with him as long as he can tolerate the pain...which he is doing very well.
Note to sister Deb: I know it is tough being so far away, but please know he is in great hands here and believe me, they have tried many things to ease the nausea. The chemo he received was 40x stronger than a regular dose would be, so we do have to take that into consideration. I promise you he is doing great! When you get here this summer, rest assured he will be spending lots of time with you because he won't be going anywhere for quite a while!! Love you!!

  2. Good morning! A bit of a rough patch, but it sounds like you guys have a good, solid new game plan for the next day or two... I am happy your docs, nurses, and CNAs sound so wonderful and are really listening to you guys. I know you guys want to get home as fast as can be and we can't wait to see you, but take advantage of all the help and expertise around you...it is supposed to be lousy weather for the next 10 days, so no hurry to be on the lake...
    Love you guys! The Monniers

  3. We all know you are a tough guy Joe so you don't need to prove anything to anyone. Just slow down. We learn to walk one bump at a time and soon find we can run freely. It is time to rest and build strength up before you attempt to climb the mountain. PLEASE don't over do it. You will get there - just take it one day at a time! Donny

  4. Those damn "WALLS" like the dr. said. Yes, well, those are there to make you appreciate the days when they aren't there.THE GOOD DAYS, AND YOU WILL CERTAINLY LEARN TO APPRECIATE THEM! I never could understand how the kids could drink that Gatorade, but about 2 1/2 years ago, I figured it out. (It was the only thing that would stay down.) sips! little sips! Then go back to sleep quickly before the nausea hits! it's almost like a race against time to see if you can beat it before it hits! Once you get home, Joey, the healing will come along faster in your own environment. I can't wait to see you.

You will find the inner strength that you didn't even know you had to get through this. This goes for both of you. You have so very much support as well. How very fortunate!!!

    Love you!

  5. Glad to hear Joey had a good nights rest. I know you want to get home where you can get comfortable and relax but it's only been a week. You're probably where you need to be for now. It sounds like you are getting great care and everyone is looking out for the both of you so take advantage of this time to heal. We're all looking forward to having you home...and you will be, soon.

Take care and we'll keep checking on you through this blog.

With Love to all of you...

  7. Good Morning,
Glad your night was better. Remember it was only one week yesterday that you had major surgery. I think you have done so good since then.( GREAT as a matter of fact ) You have to do what your body is telling you to do. Take it easy and dont do to much. You are right where you should be so all those wonderful nurses can take good care of you.
Tonight Bob and I are going to do the relay for life walk at UMO. We will be lighting luminaires in honor of both of you. This is a first for us to do the walk. We usually do a luminaire in memory of Vicki Brady's husband Brian. This year we really wanted to participate and do the walk Some of our neighbors also have donated to have luminaires lit in your honor. You both are in so many peoples thoughts and prayers. You are Special !!
Each week a piece of the wall will come down and you will soon be your old self.
Hope you have a good day. Maybe some good old fashioned chicken soup would help !! Wish I could make some for you. ( when you get home I will )
    Love, Brenda & Bobby

  9. What a rollercoaster ride, huh...but Joey seems to get himself going back up hill just as soon as he gets to the bottom of a dip! We are still checking up you several times a day so you aren't riding the rollercoaster alone! Love to both of you, Bronwen

  13. OOOh, a oompa-loompa blue day! Interesting.

Bet your glad you tried that Power-ade!

But really, you are doing so well. It is just our nature to expect a steady climb, but the pauses can be a time to reflect, rest, and then move forward again. You will get there, Joe. And then we will march you through too, Kerri. Remember how you are helping Joe, and then when we try and slow you down a bit, you can listen with an open mind, relax, and know it will be OK.

    love you

    Jenny

  15. Joe... We are all excited for you to be getting home, but pace yourself will ya? You are doing amazingly great with your recovery and I know it isn't in you not to push, but if you don't take it a little easier, I will have to come back done there and demonstrate how to kick back. You know I have the technology...
