To know Joey and Kerri is to love them. The news of both of them being diagnosed with cancer is heartbreaking. We've created this site so that you can get updates, offer help, and use the guest book to write thoughts of encouragement and love. The outpouring of love and support they are receiving is very wanted and appreciated, however there will be times in the future when the Lynchs may not be able to keep up with phone calls and visits. Please use this site as an alternative means to stay connected.

Good evening to all. I wish tonights blog could be as positive as the ones in the past, but do have to say that Joey has had a rough day today. He felt real tired this morning, but wanted to get up and going, so even before I went down to breakfast, we went for 2 1/2 walks around the loop! This tired him out, so he took a nap while I went to get something to eat. The nausea never seems to subside and it is really getting to him. His Mom and Charlie came to visit (along with his Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Arthur) which was a very welcome site!! But after they left, he started sinking fast. I won't go into detail, but let me just say it was "blue!" I don't think he will ever be able to look at a blue Powerade bottle the same again!
I left him alone for most of the evening: went to dinner with Cam, then a friend of mine met me and we went out for a walk. When we returned, he looked a little better, but was ready to call it a night. I wish when he went to bed that he wouldn't be bothered until HE decided to wake up...but the nurses do have their job to do. I will tell you this...the nurses and CNA's here are unbelievable. Even if they are working and don't have Joe, they sneak in just for a quick visit and to check up on us :)
Pray for him to have a good night sleep tonight and here is to a better day tomorrow.
Good night and love to all.

  1. Hi Kerri. Doesn't it seem like yesterday you and I were in the halls of Dedham School worrying about Caleb being anxious about school. Was he in 1st grade? We never know where the journey will lead us but I do know that the powers that be set paths for us and we have to travel them to the best of our abilities. The outcomes make us who we are. My heart aches for the journey you and your men are on but I know you have an incredible support team. Every night before I close my eyes I am pray that you and your family's path has a lot of smooth spots and not so many rocky parts to travel!
Good thought and lots of hug,
    Cheryl Meakin

  2. Hi you two,
Joey , listen to your big sister....you are over doing it! Jesus, Joseph & Mary, you just had major surgery. When you feel tired your body is telling you it needs to heal and to rest. Have they given you something for the nausea? Remember when we were kidding around before your surgery that there is something out there that will make you feel better. Ask Jenny what they give the kids....it might be worth looking into.
Joe says it takes away nausea, depression & pain. Hey, us witch doctors know best! Hang in there Joey. You to Kerri. Got to get ready for work now. I'm walking in the Cancer Relay for Life tonight so I'll be thinking of you two every step.

    Love......Deb

  3. the beauty of this blog is that you can share the amount of details when and as you are comfortable. Sorry about the rough day. I'm sure they'll get it sorted out. The body will heal at it's own pace. You have a great team and support network. Go team. positive thought s coming your way!

  4. Joe, Kerri,

I HAVE FINALLY BEEN ABLE TO GET THE PROPER ADDRESS TO REACH YOU!!!
I had previously gotten wrong address/blogs, etc from the folks listed below---and I did NOT want to call and be an inconvenience.

First off, I hope you know that Lynne and I love you BOTH very dearly!!!

I have talked to Chris Reynolds on a couple of occasions, with Tony almost weekly, Joe's Mom once, and nephew Dan on Several occasions.
So, I have been following along.

Shortly after you both got the medical news, I wanted to call SOOOO bad. But, I was told that going to this blog was the best way to communicate---that phone calls were coming in all of the time---and that was NOT the best way to contact you.
    Is that still true?

(Well, at least finally I have the right 'blog' address.)

I'm not sure how to use this 'blog', so I can only hope you can get back to us via e-mail or phone---- WHEN IT'S CONENIENT FOR YOU!!!

We go for a week's vaction on Thursday July 22nd---but contact us if you wish.

    e-mail: dallascowboys@hermon.net

    phone: 848-7519

    We love you BOTH!!!

    Pat & Lynne
