Not so good on letting you know the good news am I...We made it home Tues. night at 10pm. Made a deal with Joe that he had to eat crackers and drink a whole bottle of water by the time we got home and he agreed. Told the nurse our plan so she phone the Doc to see if we could leave...she said no :( A half hour later the nurse came in and said the Doc called back and had changed her mind! Didn't take long to pack the car and head out. Joe slept most of the way and was very glad to have his own bed back. We won't discuss how he kept his promises though...
Work has been crazy busy, but all for a good reason. We are hoping to close within the next couple of weeks. WHEW!!!! The new owner is wonderful to work with and I love who he put in the office with me. Between the two of us, we are trying to get all of the nitty gritty work done and leaving the big stuff up to Pat (the new owner) and Joey, when he is ready. Next week at this time I am sure Joey will feel much better and want to get into the office to clean everything out. That is going to be tough, but hopefully he will be right back working for them real soon.
So, in a nutshell, we jump over one hurdle and then another one is fast approaching!! That inner strength that everyone talks about can only last so long...
Until next time, God Bless and {{hugs}} to all...

Hello, you are all amazing! I don't sit to look on the computer often but your issues have my attention. I hope you are all healing-Cameron and Caleb included. Being a nurse, I particularly relate to pain situations and can't remember an epidural catheter clogging off but have been trained to watch for it! "Ouch" I can't imagine what both you, 'Joey and Carey' are going thru , as you both have had surgery and more to follow- I can only give my support and good wishes, as well as, Danny's. Wishing you better health and know you have 'Lots of Love' Hang in there and god bless you and your family- Gretchen and Dan G.
ReplyDeleteoops! Spelled 'Kerri' wrong! I'm 'bad'-knew better! Gretchen
ReplyDeleteHi! We've been anxious to get an updated posting and have to admit that we were starting to get a little worried! This is GREAT news and SO happy you're all comfy back at home! Love, Kim & Tom
ReplyDeleteKerri you have done a great job at keeping us all posted, taking care of Joe's best interest and going through a major surgery, so if you get a little discouraged step back and take a moment and considering the life changing events that are taking place getting a little tired of the next 'hurdle'seems absolutely normal. You are both in my thoughts and prayers every single day!! I'm glad Joe's back home, nothing like your own bed for real rest. I know there are like a million things going on but you try to get some rest as well, safe guard your own health, you still a bit of a journey too... I love you both. Renee
ReplyDeleteSo glad you both are home. Joe, mashed potatoes was all I hungered for and I do not even care for them ----But they sure tasted good. Also custard the last time was it for me . Try something even a little at a time.
ReplyDeleteKerri, you are doing toooooooo much. Please take care of yourself.

Dear Joe and Kerri: This is my first chance to check the blog since being sprung from EMMC. So sorry to read of the set back. Just remember each time we take a step back there are two steps waiting for us to go forward. I am trying to learn this. If I find out how to do it I will let you know.
ReplyDeletePrayers continue for all of you.
With affection, Ian+

ReplyDeleteHi Kerri & Joe, I've been following this periodically, thinking of you a lot!! You are an inspiration during a tough time. Sending lots of positive energy your way and wishing you the best. Keep your heads up and you can look forward to more moonlit cruises around the lake! Leeann H
ReplyDeleteGuy's were glad your home! I know that the comments everybody leaves help, but personally whats hard is not really being able to help by taking some of the physical and emotional pain from you two. It's frustrating! Know that we all care and would if we could! I read this site and it's so clear that everybody just loves you guys so much. Take that love and gather strength from it to continue on this journey. Pray for continued strength and we will continue to do the same! You need something just ask!
ReplyDeleteLove Jim and Linda.

Happy Father's Day Joey! You're not only a terrific dad to your own two boys, but to many others as well. You've been a strong, supportive presence in the life of my oldest and I'll never forget that. The times you encouraged him to get beyond those tough life moments and the time you came to us with information that, ultimately, helped us to help him at a very critical time. You are truly a caring, sensitive, wonderful man who always thinks of others and ways to be helpful and supportive. Kerri and your boys are lucky and they know it.
ReplyDeleteSo, get your strength back. I'm counting on you to be around for a long time- because you're the kind of person that one can count on- always.
Hope your father's day was as special as you are.
Happy Father's Day!! Hey Joey! Its been about five and a half years since I moved to Florida but I haven't forgotten all the good times we had working together. I always think about moving back and coming back to work. Maybe some day when your better we can make that happen. I'm coming back home this summer for a week and If your not to busy my dad and I would love to come see you. I hope you got to spend this special day with your boys. I wish that someday I'll be as good of a dad to my two boys that you are to yours. Can't wait to see you and hang in there!

Welcome home again! Hope Joey finds that his bed is what he needs and I hope Kerri finds a way to slow it all down and accept more help. (I'm pretty good at helping clean and organize if you'll let me.) L. Christie
